2010.  Baghdad, Iraq.  Anthony Shadid. Very upset to hear of the death today of Anthony Shadid in Syria.  Anthony was truly one of the greatest chroniclers of the Middle East in the past decade.  I was fortunate to work with him in Iraq in 2010.  He was wise, funny, generous and charming.  It was a deep honor to work with him after years of admiring his work from a distance.  His death is a great loss.   2010.  Baghdad, Iraq.  Anthony Shadid.
